This February, 2018, PWOC will be hosting Valentine-themed parties for women in the neighborhoods on Fort Belvoir and in the nearby communities. During the parties, we’ll offer women the opportunity to make blankets for patients at Fort Belvoir Hospital through a partnership with Blanket Hearts. There are several ways you can be involved in this outreach event!

Do you enjoy being hospitable? Would you like to learn how to be hospitable? Sign up to help co-host a party! We’ll provide you and your team with most of the supplies to throw a great party and build relationships in your neighborhood.

We need donations of fabric! We need FLEECE fabric in sections measuring 60” x 2 yards (2 sections of fabric make 1 blanket). Sign up if you can chip in!

Interested in attending a party? Sign up and we’ll send you an invitation to a party near you!

Please contact Sara Beth at if you are interested in signing up!

Let’s come together, go together, love together!

Wednesday class Uninvited: Living Loved when you feel less than, Left Out and Lonely, by Lysa TerKeurst.

The enemy wants us to feel rejected . . . left out, lonely, and less than. When we allow him to speak lies through our rejection, he pickpockets our purpose. Cripples our courage. Dismantles our dreams. And blinds us to the beauty of Christ’s powerful love.

With biblical depth, gut-honest vulnerability, and refreshing wit, Lysa helps readers:

  • Release the desire to fall apart or control the actions of others by embracing God-honoring ways to process their hurt.
  • Know exactly what to pray for the next ten days to steady their soul and restore their confidence.
  • Overcome the two core fears that feed our insecurities by understanding the secret of belonging.
  • Stop feeling left out and start believing that "set apart" does not mean "set aside."
  • End the cycle of perceived rejection by refusing to turn a small incident into a full blown issue.

Time and location: 7:00-8:30pm at the Woodlawn Chapel in Room 134/136

Thursday Evening Bible Study: Perseverance: A Long Obedience in the Same Direction by Eugene Peterson
We live in an instant society where perseverance and patience are not often practiced. One aspect of the world that is harmful to Christians is the assumption that anything worthwhile can be acquired at once. It is not difficult in this environment to get someone interested in the message of the gospel; it is difficult to sustain the interest. People have developed the lifestyle of a tourist seeking the high points rather than developing the life of a pilgrim on a focused journey towards God. Maturity isn’t downloaded in an app but developed over time through persistent obedience. The fifteen “Songs of Ascents” (Psalm 120‐134) were songs written for pilgrims on a journey towards God. This obedience takes root over a long period of time and is often anything but instant. As you journey through these God‐sung “songs” may your affections be stirred as you see your Savior and find in Him satisfaction in every sphere and season of life.
